While surfing online, you may noticed that some websites ask for permission to access your location. If you&#8217;re concerned about websites tracking your physical location, you can configure your web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer) to disable websites asking for your location in Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 1: Turn Off Location Tracking in Google Chrome<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click on the three-dot menu on the right-hand side of the address bar, go to <strong>Settings<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome-menu.png\" width=\"600\" height=\"446\" class=\"alignnone\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Scroll till the end and click on <strong>Show advanced settings<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chrome-settings.png\" width=\"600\" height=\"459\" class=\"alignnone\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>Content settings<\/strong> and under the Privacy section.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/content-settings.png\" alt=\"content-settings\" width=\"600\" height=\"409\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9636\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Scroll down to the Location section and select &#8220;<strong>Do not allow any site to track your physical location<\/strong>&#8220;. Now click <strong>Done<\/strong>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/chrome-not-track-physical-location.png\" alt=\"chrome-not-track-physical-location\" width=\"600\" height=\"479\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9637\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Part 2: Turn Off Location Tracking in Microsoft Edge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Just like other Windows 10 Store apps, Microsoft Edge&#8217;s location tracking settings cannot be controlled from within the browser itself. You have to turn off location tracking through the Settings app. Follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/6-ways-to-open-pc-settings-in-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\">Open the Settings app<\/a> and then click <strong>Privacy<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/privacy-settings.png\" alt=\"privacy-settings\" width=\"600\" height=\"409\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9387\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Location<\/strong> tab in the left side. Scroll down to the &#8220;<strong>Choose apps that can use your precise location<\/strong>&#8221; section and turn the slider next to Microsoft Edge to <strong>Off<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/disable-edge-use-location.png\" alt=\"disable-edge-use-location\" width=\"600\" height=\"497\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9638\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Part 3: Turn Off Location Tracking in Firefox<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open your Firefox browser. Type <strong>about:config<\/strong> into the address bar and press Enter.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/firefox-config.png\" alt=\"firefox-config\" width=\"600\" height=\"381\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9639\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll see a warning message &#8220;<em>This might void your warranty!<\/em>&#8220;. Just click <strong>I accept the risk<\/strong> and move on.<\/li>\n<li>Type <strong>geo.enabled<\/strong> into the Search box and hit Enter. The Geo Enabled option should show up. Double-click that option with your mouse to disable it.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/firefox-geo-enabled.png\" alt=\"firefox-geo-enabled\" width=\"537\" height=\"336\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9640\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Part 4: Turn Off Location Tracking in Internet Explorer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open your Internet Explorer. Click on the gear shaped Settings icon in the upper-right corner.
