Luckily there is simple registry hack that can help you get back the old \/ vertical volume control back in Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/new-volume-control.png\" alt=\"new-volume-control\" width=\"400\" height=\"176\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8757\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Enable Old \/ Vertical Volume Control in Windows 10?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\nPress the Windows key + R shortcut to open the Run command box. Type <strong>regedit<\/strong> and press Enter.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/regedit-via-run.png\" alt=\"regedit-via-run\" width=\"399\" height=\"206\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7481\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nWhen the Registry Editor window opens, navigate to the following key:<br \/>\n<code>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\MTCUVC<\/code><\/p>\n<p>If the <strong>MTCUVC<\/strong> key doesn&#8217;t exist, right-click on <strong>CurrentVersion<\/strong> and then choose <strong>New<\/strong> -> <strong>Key<\/strong>. Name the new key <strong>MTCUVC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/new-registry-key.png\" alt=\"new-registry-key\" width=\"605\" height=\"363\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8753\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nSelect the <strong>MTCUVC<\/strong> key on the left pane. Right-click any empty space on the right pane, then choose <strong>New<\/strong> -> <strong>DWORD (32-bit) Value<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/new-dword-value.png\" alt=\"new-dword-value\" width=\"582\" height=\"299\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8754\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nName this new DWORD <strong>EnableMtcUvc<\/strong> and leave the Value data to be 0. If you want to enable the new \/ horizontal Volume Control later, just change its data back to 1.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/EnableMtcUvc-.png\" alt=\"EnableMtcUvc\" width=\"582\" height=\"299\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8755\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nLog out of your Windows account and log back in.
