In this tutorial we&#8217;ll show you how to change the active \/ inactive title bar color in Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 1: Change Active Title Bar Color in Windows 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Right-click on any empty space on the desktop, select <strong>Personalize<\/strong> from the context menu.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/personalize.png\" alt=\"personalize\" width=\"233\" height=\"231\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8679\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>When the Settings window opens, click <strong>Colors<\/strong> on the left side.<\/li>\n<li>On the right side, pick an accent color and turn on the &#8220;<strong>Show color on title bar<\/strong>&#8221; setting.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/show-color-on-title-bar.png\" alt=\"show-color-on-title-bar\" width=\"600\" height=\"506\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8680\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>When it&#8217;s done, Windows 10 will display your selected color for the title bar of any active window. But inactive title bar remains white as usual.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 2: Change Inactive Title Bar Color in Windows 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately there is no option to change the color of inactive title bar in the Settings app, and you have to change it using this registry hack:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + R to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/5-ways-to-open-run-command-box-in-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\">open the Run command box<\/a>. Type <strong>regedit<\/strong> and hit Enter.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/regedit-via-run.png\" alt=\"regedit-via-run\" width=\"399\" height=\"206\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7481\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once the Registry Editor opens, navigate to the following key:<br \/>\n<code>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\DWM<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Right-click the <strong>DWM<\/strong> key on the left side, select <strong>New<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>DWORD (32-bit) Value<\/strong> from the context menu.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/registry-new-dword.png\" alt=\"registry-new-dword\" width=\"597\" height=\"311\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8681\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Name the new DWORD value as <strong>AccentColorInactive<\/strong>. Then double-click on <strong>AccentColorInactive<\/strong> on the right side. In the popup window, type the RGB value of the color of your choice under <strong>Value data<\/strong> box and click <strong>OK<\/strong>.
