Do you need to know the time of the last login? In this tutorial we&#8217;ll show you how to deploy a GPO in Windows to display information about previous logons during user logon. This feature works on all computers running Windows 10\/8\/7, Windows Server2008 or later.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method 1: Show Previous Logon Information with Group Policy Editor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + R to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/5-ways-to-open-run-command-box-in-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\">open the Run command box<\/a>. Type <strong>gpedit.msc<\/strong> and press Enter.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/gpedit.png\" alt=\"gpedit\" width=\"399\" height=\"206\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6208\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the Local Group Policy Editor, drill down to <strong>Computer Configuration<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Administrative Templates<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Windows Components<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Windows Logon Options<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/windows-logon-options.png\" alt=\"windows-logon-options\" width=\"600\" height=\"250\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8652\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\tOn the right panel, find the &#8220;<strong>Display information about previous logons during user logon<\/strong>&#8221; policy and double-click it.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Enabled<\/strong> option. Click <strong>OK<\/strong> and it takes you to the desktop.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/windows-previous-login-activity.png\" alt=\"windows-previous-login-activity\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8654\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method 2: Show Previous Logon Information with Registry Hack<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you have a Windows Home edition, you need to use the following registry hack to enable the &#8220;<strong>Display information about previous logons during user logon<\/strong>&#8221; policy on your computer.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + R to open the Run box. Type <strong>regedit<\/strong> and press Enter.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/regedit-via-run.png\" alt=\"regedit-via-run\" width=\"399\" height=\"206\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7481\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>When the Registry Editor opens, navigate to the following key:<br \/>\n<code>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\System<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Look for the REG_DWORD value <strong>DisplayLastLogonInfo<\/strong> in the right panel. If it doesn&#8217;t exist, right-click the empty space and choose <strong>New<\/strong> &gt; <strong>DWORD (32-bit) Value<\/strong>. Name the new value <strong>DisplayLastLogonInfo<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click <strong>DisplayLastLogonInfo<\/strong> and then change the value from 0 to 1. Click <strong>OK<\/strong>. (If you don&#8217;t want Windows to show previous logon information after sign-in, just change the DisplayLastLogonInfo value back to 0)\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/DisplayLastLogonInfo.png\" alt=\"DisplayLastLogonInfo\" width=\"600\" height=\"285\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8655\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Close Registry Editor and restart your computer.
