Sometimes you might need to know the absolute path of the location you are currently in. In this tutorial we&#8217;ll show you 2 ways to make Windows 10 display full path (file location) in the title bar of File Explorer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method 1: Make Windows 10 Display Full Path in Explorer Title Bar Using Folder Options<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open File Explorer. Click the <strong>View<\/strong> tab on the ribbon. You&#8217;ll see the the <strong>Options<\/strong> button on the right-hand side. Click it to open the Folder Options dialog.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/open-folder-options.png\" alt=\"open-folder-options\" width=\"555\" height=\"274\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8442\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click the <strong>View<\/strong> tab. Log off your user or restart the computer. As you see, the File Explorer should now show the full file path instead of the folder name in the title bar.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/file-explorer-display-full-path.png\" alt=\"file-explorer-display-full-path\" width=\"562\" height=\"249\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8444\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method 2: Make Windows 10 Display Full Path in Explorer Title Bar Using Registry Editor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box, type <strong>regedit<\/strong> and hit Enter.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/regedit-via-run.png\" alt=\"regedit-via-run\" width=\"399\" height=\"206\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7481\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the left pane of Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:<br \/>\n<code>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\CabinetState<\/code><\/li>\n<li>In the right pane, double-click the value entry <strong>FullPath<\/strong> and modify the value to 1.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/display-full-path-in-explorer-titlebar.png\" alt=\"display-full-path-in-explorer-titlebar\" width=\"561\" height=\"294\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-8445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If <strong>FullPath<\/strong> doesn&#8217;t exist, you need to create it first. To do so, right-click on the empty space and select <strong>New<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>DWORD (32-bit) Vaule<\/strong>, and name it <strong>FullPath<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Close Registry Editor and reboot your computer.
