Please help!&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The battery status icon is very handy for laptop\/notebook\/tablet users to see how much time is left charging, or remaining percentage of battery life. By default, the battery icon is shown in notification area of the taskbar. If your battery icon is missing or disappeared from Windows 10 taskbar, try the following methods to get it back.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/battery-icon-on-windows-taskbar.png\" alt=\"battery-icon-on-windows-taskbar\" width=\"427\" height=\"221\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7803\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Method 1: Restore Missing Battery Icon Using Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the Settings app either by clicking its icon in the Start Menu or pressing Windows logo key + I keyboard shortcut.<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>System<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/settings1.png\" alt=\"settings\" width=\"600\" height=\"349\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7535\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Notifications &amp; actions<\/strong> tab on the left side, and then click the <strong>Turn system icons on or off<\/strong> link on the right pane.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/turn-system-icons-on.png\" alt=\"turn-system-icons-on\" width=\"600\" height=\"389\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7804\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Just toggle the slider for <strong>Power<\/strong> to the <strong>On<\/strong> position.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/turn-power-icon-on.png\" alt=\"turn-power-icon-on\" width=\"554\" height=\"440\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7805\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Go back to the previous System Settings window and this time click the <strong>Select which icons appear on the taskbar<\/strong> link.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/choose-icon-appear-on-taskbar.png\" alt=\"choose-icon-appear-on-taskbar\" width=\"600\" height=\"389\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7806\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Look for the <strong>Power<\/strong> icon and turn it on.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/show-power-icon-in-taskbar.jpg\" alt=\"show-power-icon-in-taskbar\" width=\"505\" height=\"470\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7807\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now reboot your computer and check if the battery status icon comes back.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method 2: Restore Missing Battery Icon Using Group Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For Windows 10 Enterprise or Pro, you can tweak the group policy to make Windows 10 show the battery icon in system tray notification area:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/open-local-group-policy-editor-in-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\">Open the Local Group Policy Editor<\/a> and navigate to:<br \/>\n<code>User Configuration -&gt; Administrative Templates -&gt; Start Menu and Taskbar<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Double-click the &#8220;<strong>Remove the battery meter<\/strong>&#8221; policy on the right pane and set it to <strong>Disabled<\/strong>. Restart your computer to apply your changes.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/remove-battery-meter.png\" alt=\"remove-battery-meter\" width=\"600\" height=\"292\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7808\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For Windows 10 Home, you might need to use the following registry hack because the Local Group Policy Editor is not available in your system.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/6-ways-to-open-registry-editor-in-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\">Open the Registry Editor<\/a> and navigate to the following key:<br \/>\n\t<code>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\Explorer<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Look for the <strong>HideSCAPower<\/strong> entry on the right pane of Registry Editor. If it doesn&#8217;t exist, right-click on the empty space and select <strong>New<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>DWORD (32-bit) Value<\/strong>, then name it as <strong>HideSCAPower<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Double-click on <strong>HideSCAPower<\/strong>, and set the value to 0. (<em>1: Hide the battery status icon, 0: Show the battery status icon<\/em>)\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/HideSCAPower.png\" alt=\"HideSCAPower\" width=\"553\" height=\"259\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7809\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Restart your computer and hopefully the battery icon is now back to your Windows 10 taskbar.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you still have no luck with the solutions above, try to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/8-ways-to-open-device-manager-in-windows-10\/\" target=\"_blank\">open the Device Manager<\/a> and uninstall both &#8220;<strong>Microsoft AC Adapter<\/strong>&#8221; and &#8220;<strong>Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery<\/strong>&#8220;, and then click on Action menu -&gt; Scan for hardware changes option.
