If AutoPlay annoys you, here are 4 simple ways to turn off \/ disable AutoPlay in Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/autoplay.png\" alt=\"autoplay\" width=\"350\" height=\"342\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6439\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Method 1: Disable Windows 10 AutoPlay Using Settings Charm<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + I to open the Settings charm app.<\/li>\n<li>In the Settings app, click on <strong>Devices<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/settings-charm2.png\" alt=\"settings-charm\" width=\"600\" height=\"350\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6440\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>AutoPlay<\/strong> on the left side, and switch off &#8220;<strong>Use AutoPlay for all media and devices<\/strong>&#8220;.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/turn-off-autoplay.png\" alt=\"turn-off-autoplay\" width=\"600\" height=\"332\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6441\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now you will never see the AutoPlay window pop up when you plug in a USB or insert a disc to your Windows 10 PC.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method 2: Disable Windows 10 AutoPlay Using Control Panel<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + X to open the WinX menu. Click on <strong>Control Panel<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>By default, the Control Panel opens to the category view. Change it to display with <strong>Large icons<\/strong>. Next click the <strong>AutoPlay<\/strong> icon.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/control-panel1.png\" alt=\"control-panel\" width=\"566\" height=\"310\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6442\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>In order to turn off AutoPlay, uncheck the the &#8220;<strong>Use AutoPlay for all media and devices<\/strong>&#8221; box. No need to select the default action for each type of media and device listed below it, because those options only work when you turn on AutoPlay.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/not-use-autoplay.png\" alt=\"not-use-autoplay\" width=\"600\" height=\"510\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6443\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Save<\/strong> and you&#8217;re done!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method 3: Disable Windows 10 AutoPlay Using Registry Editor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + R to open the Run box. Type <strong>regedit<\/strong> and press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the following registry key:<br \/>\n\t<code>HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer\\AutoplayHandlers<\/code><\/li>\n<li>Double-click on the <strong>DisableAutoplay<\/strong> entry on the right pane, change its value from 0 to 1.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/DisableAutoplay.png\" alt=\"DisableAutoplay\" width=\"605\" height=\"258\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6444\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Close Registry Editor and you&#8217;re done!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method 4: Disable Windows 10 AutoPlay Using Group Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + R to open the Run box.
