Many Windows 10 users faced the issue that Start Menu is not opening when clicking the Start button or pressing the Windows key on the keyboard. Luckily there are simple ways to solve this problem and in this tutorial we&#8217;ll show you 3 ways to get Start Menu back to work as expected.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method 1: Using System Configuration Utility (MSConfig)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + R to open the Run box. Type <strong>msconfig<\/strong> and press Enter to launch System Configuration.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/msconfig.png\" alt=\"msconfig\" width=\"399\" height=\"206\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6409\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click on the <strong>Boot<\/strong> tab at the top. Check the <strong>Safe boot<\/strong> option and select <strong>Network<\/strong>. Leave all the other settings to default. Click <strong>Apply<\/strong> and then <strong>OK<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/check-safe-mode.png\" alt=\"check-safe-mode\" width=\"571\" height=\"385\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6410\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>You&#8217;ll prompted to restart your computer. Click <strong>Restart<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/restart.png\" alt=\"restart\" width=\"347\" height=\"143\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6411\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>The computer will automatically reboot into Safe Mode. After logging in, you need to open the System Configuration utility again, by pressing the Windows key + R and then type <strong>msconfig<\/strong> in the Run box.<\/li>\n<li>Uncheck the <strong>Safe mode<\/strong> option. Click Apply and then OK. Click on &#8220;<strong>Command Prompt (Admin)<\/strong>&#8220;.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6375\" alt=\"command-prompt-admin\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/command-prompt-admin.png\" width=\"262\" height=\"401\" \/><\/li>\n<li>When the elevated Command Prompt opens, type <strong>powershell<\/strong> and press Enter.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6377\" alt=\"powershell\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/powershell.png\" width=\"603\" height=\"193\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Copy the following PowerShell command and paste it into the Command Prompt, press Enter.<br \/>\n<code>Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register \"$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml\"}<\/code><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6376\" alt=\"reinstall-windows-apps\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/reinstall-windows-apps.png\" width=\"600\" height=\"194\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Wait for PowerShell to execute and complete the command. Ignore the few errors (in red color) that may pop up.<\/li>\n<li>When it finishes, try hitting the Start button and hopefully it&#8217;ll start working.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Method 3: Using System File Checker Tool<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + X to open the WinX menu.
