There is also no option at the logon screen that allows you to sign in with Picture Password, even if you&#8217;ve already set up a Picture Password.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Option 1: Disable Picture Password Sign-in with Group Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you are not using Windows 10 \/ 8 Professional or Enterprise, you will not have access to the Group Policy Editor. Instead you should skip to the Option 2.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\nPress the Windows key + R to open the Run box. Type <strong>gpedit.msc<\/strong> and press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>\nIn the left pane of Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to:<br \/>\n<code>Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Logon<\/code>\n<\/li>\n<li>\nIn the right pane, you can see a policy named &#8220;<strong>Turn off picture password sign-in<\/strong>&#8220;, double-click on it and set it to <strong>Enabled<\/strong>. Finally, click Apply \/ OK and reboot to apply the changes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/turn-off-picture-password.png\" alt=\"turn-off-picture-password\" width=\"600\" height=\"320\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6222\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Though the policy description states that this will disable the Picture Password for domain users, it will also disable it for non-domain users.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Option 2: Disable Picture Password Sign-in with Register Editor<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\nPress the Windows key + R to open the Run box. Type <strong>regedit<\/strong> and press Enter. This will open the Registry Editor.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nNext, navigate to following entry:<br \/>\n<code>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows\\System<\/code><\/p>\n<p>If the <strong>System<\/strong> subkey doesn&#8217;t exist, you&#8217;ll have to create it.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nIn right pane, look for an entry named <strong>BlockDomainPicturePassword<\/strong>. If it doesn&#8217;t exist, right-click on empty space and create a DWORD value and assign name as <strong>BlockDomainPicturePassword<\/strong>.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nDouble-click the <strong>BlockDomainPicturePassword<\/strong> value and set it to 1. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/block-picture-password.png\" alt=\"block-picture-password\" width=\"600\" height=\"352\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6223\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you want to re-enable the Picture Password sign-in later, set the value back to 0.\n<\/li>\n<li>\nClose the Registry Editor and reboot the computer.
