Or need to stop a program from gathering your personal information and sending them out to the Internet? With Windows Firewall you can easily block any program of your choice from connecting to the Internet.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/126996292?title=0&#038;byline=0&#038;portrait=0\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" frameborder=\"0\" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Block A Program from Accessing The Internet?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To get started we need to open up Windows Firewall. One quick way to do this is from the Control Panel. Just click the <strong>Windows Firewall<\/strong> icon.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/control-panel-items.png\" alt=\"control-panel-items\" width=\"550\" height=\"272\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4927\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>On Windows Firewall window, click on the <strong>Advanced settings<\/strong> link.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/windows-firewall.png\" alt=\"windows-firewall\" width=\"550\" height=\"350\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4928\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Here you can see all your Firewall rules: Inbound or Outbound. When it comes down to it I think Outbound rules are usually enough for most applications. When Outbound connections are blocked, this means that the application can&#8217;t send any of your data to the Internet.<\/li>\n<li>Right-click on <strong>Outbound Rules<\/strong> from the tree at the left, and then select &#8220;<strong>New Rule&#8230;<\/strong>&#8221;\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/new-outbound-rule.png\" alt=\"new-outbound-rule\" width=\"550\" height=\"319\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4929\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Program<\/strong> as the rule type and click Next.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/rule-type.png\" alt=\"rule-type\" width=\"550\" height=\"443\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4930\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select the &#8220;<strong>This program path:<\/strong>&#8221; option and then click on <strong>Browse<\/strong> to locate the program which you want to stop from accessing the Internet.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/apply-rule-to-specific-app.png\" alt=\"apply-rule-to-specific-app\" width=\"550\" height=\"443\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4931\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select the &#8220;<strong>Block the connection<\/strong>&#8221; option and click Next.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/block-connection.png\" alt=\"block-connection\" width=\"550\" height=\"443\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4932\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>When comes to the <strong>Profile<\/strong> tab, select all of the available boxes: Domain, Private, and Public.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/when-rule-apply.png\" alt=\"when-rule-apply\" width=\"550\" height=\"443\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4933\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Give your new rule a name whatever you like. Click on Finish.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/set-firewall-rule-name.png\" alt=\"set-firewall-rule-name\" width=\"550\" height=\"443\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4934\" \/><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the Name column, your newly blocked program will be listed.
