Part 1: Use Folder Options to Set Folders to Open in New Window<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Press the Windows<\/strong> key + R<\/strong> together to bring up the Run dialog box, enter the below command and press Enter to launch File Explorer Options<\/a>.

  2. Under the “Browse folders” section, select the “Open each folder in the same window<\/strong>” option.\n

    Part 2: Reset the Default Double-click Action<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Open Registry Editor<\/a> and navigate to: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\\Folder\\shell<\/code>. Look for the “(Default)<\/strong>” entry in the right pane. If its value data is not empty, double-click it.\n
