We&#8217;ve previously shared <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/hide-disable-or-uninstall-cortana-in-windows-10\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">a method to uninstall Cortana from Windows 10<\/a> but it&#8217;s a bit tricky. Starting with Windows 10 version 2004 (also known as Windows 10 May 2020 Update), Cortana is no longer integrated with the Search feature and it becomes a standalone app. You can now uninstall, remove or reinstall Cortana with ease.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/windows-10-cortana-app.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"518\" height=\"486\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16050\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/windows-10-cortana-app.png 518w, https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/windows-10-cortana-app-300x281.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 518px) 100vw, 518px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 1: Uninstall Cortana from Windows 10<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Press the Windows logo key + X to open Quick Link menu and then select &#8220;<strong>Windows PowerShell (Admin)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/windows-powershell-admin.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"271\" height=\"613\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9511\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Copy and paste the following command into PowerShell and press Enter:<br \/>\n<code>Get-AppxPackage -allusers Microsoft.549981C3F5F10 | Remove-AppxPackage<\/code><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/uninstall-cortana-with-powershell-command.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"161\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16046\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/uninstall-cortana-with-powershell-command.png 599w, https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/uninstall-cortana-with-powershell-command-300x81.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This will uninstall Cortana completely for all user accounts on your system, but the Cortana button is still sitting there, do nothing when clicked. To hide the Cortana button, simply right-click the taskbar and uncheck the &#8220;<strong>Show Cortana button<\/strong>&#8221; option.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 2: Reinstall Cortana from Windows Store<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Open the Microsoft Store app. Click the <strong>Search<\/strong> button in the top-right corner and type &#8220;<strong>cortana<\/strong>&#8220;.
