How to Make Windows 10 Play Shutdown Sound<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. To get started, open Task Scheduler<\/a> and click on the Create Task<\/strong> link in the right Actions pane.\n

  2. When the Create Task dialog opens, give the task a proper name like “Play shutdown sound<\/em>“. Choose “Run whether user is logged on or not<\/strong>” and check the “Run with highest privileges<\/strong>” option. Next, click the “Configure for” drop-down and select Windows 10<\/strong>.\n

  3. Switch to the Triggers<\/strong> tab and click on the New…<\/strong> button.\n

  4. Select On an event<\/strong> in the “Begin the task” drop-down. Click the Log drop-down to select System<\/strong>, enter 1074<\/strong> (user initiated shutdown) in the Event ID text box and click OK.\n
