Check Secure Boot Policy in Setup&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/secure-boot-violation.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"594\" height=\"205\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15111\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Secure Boot is a feature included on UEFI-based computers, which ensure that only Microsoft-authorized software can be booted. If you try to boot from a trusted but &#8220;unauthorized&#8221; operating system, you&#8217;ll still receive the &#8220;Secure Boot Violation&#8221; error. To fix this issue, you have to temporarily disable Secure Boot in the UEFI BIOS firmware.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Fix Secure Boot Violation on UEFI-Based Computer<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>When turning on your computer, quickly and repeatedly press a certain key (F2, DEL, F12, ESC, etc.) to enter into UEFI BIOS.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the <strong>Boot<\/strong> (or Security) tab, select the <strong>Secure Boot<\/strong> option and set it to disabled. If the Secure Boot option is greyed out, you may need to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/knowledge\/disable-UEFI-enable-legacy-support.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">enable legacy \/ CSM support<\/a> first.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/disable-secure-boot.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"402\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15109\" \/><\/p>\n<p> \tFor ASUS computer&#8217;s UEFI BIOS, you have to press <strong>F7<\/strong> to enter Advanced Mode. Go to <strong>Boot<\/strong> -&gt; <strong>Secure Boot<\/strong>, change <strong>OS type<\/strong> from &#8220;Windows UEFI mode&#8221; to &#8220;Other OS&#8221;. Secure Boot is enabled when the OS type is set to &#8220;Windows UEFI mode&#8221; and disabled when it&#8217;s set to &#8220;Other OS&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/asus-secure-boot.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"272\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15110\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>F10<\/strong> to Save the changes and reboot.
