Because the OEM product key is embedded into the UEFI firmware,&nbsp; the installer will detect the product key in the UEFI and automatically select the corresponding edition of Windows 10 to install.<\/p>\n<p>In this tutorial we&#8217;ll show you a way to prevent Windows 10 installer from using the preinstalled product key in the UEFI, so you can install the desired edition of Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How to Fix Can&#8217;t Select Pro Edition during Windows 10 Install<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>&nbsp;To start, use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/software-download\/windows10\">Microsoft&#8217;s Media Creation Tool<\/a> to download Windows 10 ISO file and create a bootable installation USB.<\/li>\n<li>Open the <code>sources<\/code> directory in your USB drive and create a text file named <code>PID.txt<\/code>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13513\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/pid.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"569\" height=\"287\"><\/li>\n<li>Double-click the <code>PID.txt<\/code> file to open it with your text editor (or Notepad). Copy the following lines and paste them.\n<p><code>[PID]<br \/>\nValue=VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T<\/code><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-13514\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/windows-10-pro-default-product-key.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"515\" height=\"222\"><\/p>\n<p><b>Note:<\/b> <span class=\"\">The default product key for Windows 10 Pro is <code>VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T<\/code>. If you need to install Windows 10 Enterprise edition, use this default key&nbsp;<code>XGVPP-NMH47-7TTHJ-W3FW7-8HV2C<\/code> instead. These keys are for evaluation purposes and will not activate the system.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Once you have done this, boot your computer from the Windows 10 installation USB.
