If you experience FPS issue or crash in your game, here are 3 ways to disable Game Bar and Game DVR in Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method 1: Disable Game Bar and Game DVR via Settings App<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/6-ways-to-open-pc-settings-in-windows-10\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Settings app<\/a> by pressing the Windows key + I on your keyboard. Then click on <strong>Gaming<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/gaming.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"597\" height=\"417\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12351\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Game bar<\/strong> menu on the left. A value of 1 will enable it.<\/li>\n<li>Next, double-click the DWORD <strong>HistoricalCaptureEnabled<\/strong> and change the value data to 0 for turning off Game DVR. Type <strong>gpedit.msc<\/strong> and hit Enter.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/gpedit.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"206\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9207\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the Local Group Policy Editor window, expand to <code>Computer Configuration\\Administrative Templates\\Windows Components\\Windows Game Recording and Broadcasting<\/code>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/windows-game-recording-gpo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"565\" height=\"292\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12382\" \/><\/p>\n<p> \tDouble-click the &#8220;<strong>Windows Game Recording and Broadcasting<\/strong>&#8221; policy on the right to modify.<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Disabled<\/strong> and click <strong>OK<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/disable-windows-game-recording.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"428\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12383\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Restart or log off for your GPO settings to take effect.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you&#8217;re running Windows 10 Home edition, Local Group Policy Editor is not available. But you can apply the same GPO by making changes to the registry:<\/p>\n<p>Open Registry Editor and go to <em>HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Policies\\Microsoft\\Windows<\/em>.
