In this tutorial we&#8217;ll walk you through the steps to install Kali Linux as a subsystem on Windows 10.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 1: Enable the Windows Subsystem for Linux<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Before installing Kali Linux app, you have to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/install-linux-bash-in-windows-10\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">enable the Windows Subsystem for Linux feature<\/a>. To do this, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/5-ways-to-run-powershell-as-administrator-in-windows-10\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">run PowerShell as an administrator<\/a> and execute the following command:<\/p>\n<p><code>Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux<\/code><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/enable-windows-subsystem-for-linux.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"169\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11793\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When you&#8217;re prompted to restart the computer, press <strong>Y<\/strong> and Enter to reboot. The system will immediately begin to restart.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 2: Download and Install Kali Linux App<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kali Linux is officially released as an application on the Microsoft Store. Just open the Windows Store app and search for Kali Linux, and click <strong>Get<\/strong> to download and install it on your computer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/install-kali-linux.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"539\" height=\"348\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11794\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The download is approximately 160Mb in size and you should be able to get it installed in minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step 3: Create a User to Log into Kali Linux<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To open the Kali Linux app you installed, just click the Cortana Search box in the taskbar and type &#8220;kali&#8221;.
