Previous versions of Windows only required the password. How can I change it to only ask me for password? Luckily there is easy fix that can get rid of the need to click or enter username, so you can unlock a locked Windows 10 session by entering password only.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/other-user-login-screen.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11046\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fix: Windows 10 Requires Username and Password When Session is Locked<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Press the Windows key + R to open the Run prompt. Type <strong>secpol.msc<\/strong> and press Enter.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/secpol.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"206\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11044\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>In the left pane of Local Security Policy Editor, expand <strong>Local Policies<\/strong> and click <strong>Security Options<\/strong>.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/interactive-logon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"596\" height=\"292\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11045\" \/><\/p>\n<p> \tNext, double-click the <strong>Interactive Logon: Display User Information when the session is locked<\/strong> policy in the right pane.<\/li>\n<li>Click the drop-down box to select &#8220;<strong>User display name, domain and user names<\/strong>&#8220;.\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.top-password.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/display-username-when-session-locked.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"417\" height=\"405\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11047\" \/>\n<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Apply<\/strong> and then <strong>OK<\/strong>. You need to restart the machine for the change to take effect.<\/li>\n<li>After signing into your account, press the Windows + L to lock your session.
